The SIU-IUA Urooncology Highlights webinar series is a collaboration between the Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) and the Iranian Urology Association (IUA) taking place on November 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th, 2020.

The programme will offer four interactive sessions on the most common genitourinary (GU) cancers: prostate, bladder, kidney, and testis.

World-renowned lecturers from SIU along with leading Iranian experts will give practical highlights on the latest developments in the management of these GU cancers. Each session will include lectures on practical key topics in each GU cancer, plenty of opportunities for Q&A, and two interactive case discussion panels with participation from medical and radiation oncologists. The format of each session will integrate the highlights of diagnosis and treatment towards personalized case management.

SIU Message

The Société Internationale d’Urologie is a truly global society, focused on the advancement of urological education worldwide, based on the tenets of collaboration and cooperation.

The SIU fulfills its mandate through its SIU Around the World initiatives, which provide a global platform to build partnerships with national and regional urological societies. Through these partnerships, SIU connects members from around the world and facilitates the important dissemination of knowledge.

The SIU-IUA Webinar Series on Uro-Oncology is the manifestation of this mandate: the sharing of information and expertise from experts around the world, made available to those seeking education, especially at a time where access to programmes and training can be challenging.

The SIU is grateful to the Iranian Urological Association for this opportunity to bring urologists together and looks forward to a fruitful and productive four days of presentations, debates, discussions and collegial exchange.

IUA Message

The Iranian Urological Association (IUA) was established 62 years ago, and currently has seven subspecialty and eleven provincial branches, and more than 1250 urologist members. To improve the knowledge and practice of urology, IUA has been holding annual congresses for more than 20 years with participation of international societies, the last of which took place virtually in August 2020. Besides the annual program, IUA conducts monthly seminars and subspecialty meetings.
The IUA has been cooperating with Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) for more than 30 years, and has participated in SIU annual meetings diligently. To expand the international collaborations, IUA has been one of the regional pioneers in conducting joint activities with international societies especially SIU. The first program of joint SIU-IUA webinar series is entitled “SIU-IUA Uro-oncology Highlights”, providing four afternoons with lectures on hot topics in genitourinary cancers and challenging case discussions. The IUA sincerely thanks the SIU for its valuable input to this joint program, and hope to continue this series with various topics in the future.
